About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team in a hands-on, dynamic environment. This casual ongoing position offers a pay rate of $50 per hour, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. You'll work with a small, dedicated team and play a crucial role in maintaining plant machinery, performing welding duties, and contributing to major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out operational maintenance on machines, parts, and fluid power equipment.
Fabrication & Assembly: Fit fabricated parts and assemble them to production machines and equipment.
Welding: Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding methods as required.
Installation & Setup: Assist with the installation and setup of new machines and equipment.
Preventative Maintenance: Proactively deliver preventative maintenance in consultation with internal stakeholders.
Documentation: Collaborate with the Plant Manager to review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine work onsite.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering Supervisor and contribute to major projects on-site.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit to work across multiple departments and handle maintenance of production equipment.

What You'll Bring:

Tertiary Qualifications: Fitter and Turner trade qualification (essential).
Welding Experience: Strong background in MIG/TIG welding techniques.
Forklift License: Advantageous (if you don't have one, the client will support you in obtaining it).
Experience: Previous experience in industrial or plant maintenance.
Safety Consciousness: You take safety seriously and understand the importance of a safe working environment.
Problem Solving & Initiative: Process-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Physically Fit: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including passing a medical, drug, and alcohol test before commencing.
