About the Company

House Call Doctor is Queensland’s largest geographic network of After-Hours doctors, the service spans from Cairns to The Gold Coast. Our after-hours team of doctors will provide care to hundreds of thousands of patients in Queensland this year. Along with major metropolitan centres providing care in regional cities where at times options are limited, we support local Clinics to provide continuity of care when they are closed, which helps reduce pressure on the hospital system.

About the Role 

Based in Spring Hill, you will be working closely within the Brisbane team, you will play a key role in supporting our chaperones and doctors in ensuring we maintain our high-quality service.

This job fits someone with a good understanding of medical terminology or an ability to learn new skills and the functions of our dispatch team. You will be working in an autonomous role where you will need to show self-discipline and keen eye for details. Whenever you work within dispatch you will need to be able to both take calls and observe different duties within the workspace and to assist regional teams with clerical tasks. You will need to stay calm and have a mature attitude towards our patients and members of your team.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to manage time efficiently and multi-task.
  • Ability to react to a situation competently and in a calm manner, capable of handling pressure.
  • Excellent communication and persuasive people skills
  • Proficient with Outlook emails, Excel, Desktop computer literacy.
  • Punctual.
  • Reliable
  • Must be available for evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to confidently give instruction and constructively take feedback.
  • Candidates from previous call centre, with background in Medical reception and Administrative background who is familiar with internal clerical programs and is good at being in front of a computer and on the phone for durations of 6 – 8 hrs. with breaks and can prioritize tasks based on time sensitive nature or level of urgency.

Position will be casual, with a roster within the hours of operation stated. Hours of operation are weekday from 5pm-12:30am Monday to Friday, weekends from 12noon-12pm Saturday and Sunday from 8am-1200am.
