Job advertisements fell in March for the first time after 9 months of rises.


The ANZ Job Advertisement series showed a 1.4% decline in job advertisements for March 2015.

Online advertisements weakened 1.3% while newspaper ads 3.6%. However, ANZ chief economist, Warren Hogan said the number of jobs being advertised is still at high levels with job advertisements remaining 6.6% higher year-on-year. He also mentioned this results suggest the job advertisement peak may have now ended.

Newspaper ads were particularly weak in NT and SA, and strong in TAS. In trend terms, newspaper jobs are rising in NT and QLD, with a weakening in ACT in the past three months.
