About the Company

Our client is a well-established family owned business who are leading and well-respected grower of poultry near BEAUFORT south Australia. Who are looking to employ a competently skilled Assistant farm manager.

About the Role

As an assistant farm manager, you'll collaborate with, and provide support to, the farm manager through assisting with all of their duties and responsibilities.

You will be organised, trustworthy and have a positive hand on attitude as you take a collaborative approach as you work alongside the farm manager but also have the ability to be able to step up and manage the farm in times when the Farm Manager is absent

This position may equally suit someone who has had several years’ experience in livestock management and is ready for the next step in their career

Skills, Experiences and Requirements

A minimum of two years’ experience in poultry livestock management or similar agricultural industry
Leadership and management experience
Computer skills
Must be Mechanical aptitude, and able to attend to basic mechanical breakdowns
A passion for agriculture and be results driven
Experience operating various farm machinery
Comply with company OH & S policies
Work as a team player and be a self-starter
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ensuring all quality and maintenance standard are upheld
Car and driver’s license
Weekend and after-hours work will be required. Also available to respond to alarm

An onsite home and company ute will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The poultry industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards, so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry and pigs and must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
